This is the Washingtonville Cemetery, with headstones dating back to the late 1700s. We visited on a rainy day and still encountered a few friendly locals walking around and taking in the history.
This cemetery is located in New York State, directly across from the oldest, still operating, winery in the United States: Brotherhood Winery.
Some of the early owners of the Winery are even buried here. I also highly recommend the history tour at Brotherhood, even if you aren't a big drinker. It was delightful.
Burials here include many Veterans from all major American wars including The Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. The cemetery hosts community events like scavenger hunts for locals.
